Beijing Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club is one of the city’s most established international sports clubs and has participated in Gaelic football and hurling competitions throughout China and Asia.

However Beijing GAA is more than just a sporting club as it provides a welcoming presence to those who have left Irish shores and arrive in China’s capital for the first time. It also brings together people from different backgrounds and cultures, where long term friendships are often built.

Over the last number of years our diligent members have made massive efforts introducing our national games to people who have never heard of Gaelic football or hurling. Thankfully, we can now boast to having players from Costa Rica, Ecuador, US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand and of course China, where we have focused heavily.

All our hard work paid off in 2015, as our Ladies team were crowned ‘Football Plate’ winners at the All China Games in Hong Kong, and history was made as the first ever all-native Chinese Gaelic football team made their debut at the All China Games and Asian Games, as Beijing-Dublin International College took their first steps into the Gaelic games world. This could not have been achieved without the club’s coaches who worked tirelessly in preparing the students and grass roots bore new shoots in the evolution of our treasured sports.
